Where the app's questions, fines, signs and licence steps come from, and where to check the rules yourself.
Unofficial practice app
Learners Test UAE is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai, Abu Dhabi Mobility / ITC, Sharjah Police, the Ministry of Interior or any UAE government entity, and its questions are not taken from any theory test.
Where to check the rules
Laws, fines and test formats change. Before your test, check with the authority that issues your licence:
| Where | Authority | Website |
|---|---|---|
| All emirates | UAE Government portal | u.ae |
| All emirates | Ministry of Interior (federal traffic services and fines) | moi.gov.ae |
| Dubai | Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) | rta.ae |
| Abu Dhabi | Abu Dhabi Mobility / ITC, through the TAMM platform | tamm.abudhabi |
| Sharjah | Sharjah Police | shjpolice.gov.ae |
| Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah | Ministry of Interior and the police of each emirate | moi.gov.ae |
The law we write from
- Federal Decree-Law No. 14 of 2024 on road traffic (in force since 29 March 2025), and its implementing regulations
- The federal tables of traffic fines and black points
- Federal Decree-Law No. 12 of 2023 on the weights and dimensions of heavy vehicles
- Notices from the emirates, for example truck-ban times, delivery-rider rules, Salik and Darb tolls, and school buses
Federal laws can be read on the UAE Legislation portal (uaelegislation.gov.ae) and on u.ae.
How we write the questions
- Every question is original: we start from the rule and write a new situation, new answer choices and our own explanation. We do not copy or reword questions from RTA handbooks, practice tests or other apps.
- Each question records the source it was written from and the date it was last checked.
- Questions are drafted with the help of AI and checked by AI against the sources. They have not been reviewed by a driving instructor or a lawyer.
- Translations into Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, Malayalam and Bengali are made and checked by AI.
- Where an emirate's test format is not published, the app says that it uses a general UAE practice format.
- Road signs, diagrams and clips are drawn by us. We do not use government emblems, logos or the flag, and we never mirror signs or diagrams in right-to-left layouts.
